(Apostilla a una apostilla de Magda sobre la tradición..., un tanto crítica con Gadamer:)

Totalmente de acuerdo contigo y con Jio sobre lo de "las tradiciones" y el énfasis en el presente y el futuro antes que en "la tradición" singular y el pasado. Tradiciones hay muchas, y hay que procurar encontrar las que de verdad nos van, y potenciar las mejores, no se vayan a perder esas tradiciones... Aunque habla de "la tradición" y no de "las tradiciones", me gusta mucho esta frase de Mahler:

"La tradición no consiste en adorar cenizas, sino en mantener viva la llama".

(El lunes, por cierto, comentaremos en clase de crítica literaria "Tradition and the individual talent", de T. S. Eliot. Una mente muy gadameriana, que también propugnó un concepto un tanto monolítico de la tradición).

(Ah, y sobre el título de este post, y aparte de quienes se olvidan de las tradiciones que deberían recordar. La tradición tiene en común con la traducción que siempre requiere adaptar un sentido recibido a un nuevo lenguaje, contexto y prioridades).
