Silence once Broken: Metalanguage and Narrative Closure in Beckett

A slightly flippant Artificial Mind or Chatbot has performed this introductory riff on this paper on silence I wrote circa 1990...  I suspect Beckett would have loved this mindless production of significant discourse, which reminds me of that parrot of his (Luckily) uttering Aristotelian dicta by halves: "Nihil in intellectu! Nihil in intellectu!"...
