Encasillamientos genéricos

Los hombres y las mujeres son no sólo dos sexos, sino dos castas sociales—algo que se está volviendo cada vez más evidente en la era de los conflictos de género y de las distorsiones genéricas. Presentamos una panorámica de algunos debates contemporáneos tal como se presentaron en una sesión sobre "La Crisis del Género" en un congreso español de Jóvenes Filósofos (Centro de Historias, Zaragoza, abril de 2015). Una cuestión central que comentamos es la oportunidad de eliminar la categorización genérica o el encasillamiento binario en situaciones administrativas o sociales donde no es inmediatamente relevante.

Generic Typecasting

Men and Women are not just two sexes, but two social castes—and this is becoming more and more evident in the age of gender trouble and gender bending. Here is a brief overview of some contemporary debates presented in a session on "The Crisis of Gender", in a Spanish conference of Young Philosophers (Centro de Historias, Zaragoza, Spain, April 2015). One of the main topics discussed is the desirability or otherwise of suppressing generic categorization and binary pigeonholing in those social or administrative situations where it is not obviously relevant.
